Maya 3d Model FeaturesThese native Maya models make import or loading of PDB files or proteins into Maya a breeze. The 3d models contain Ball n Stick and Space Filling structure which can be simply interchanged and configured as desired in Maya. The 3d models have been organized in a hierarchy which can be manipulated with ease. Replacing or modifying shaders for entire 3d model is easy and swift. The embedded shaders provide an easy way to visualize and render in different styles. The 3d models are freely available to downloaded in Maya ASCII format.Types of native Maya ModelsPremium Models (Particle): These models are built on Maya's particle system which can handle very large number of atom count with ease. The atom and bond geometry is based on Nurbs. Users can switch between software and hardware(no bonds) rendering modes easily by our customization MEL script. We recommend these 3d models for best interactive performanceStandard Models (Nurbs): These models are created using Nurbs geometry instancing they are similar to Basic 3d models and work well only when the total number of atoms is small. Basic Models (Polygon): Same as Standard Models, except they use Polygon geometry as base instead of Nurbs. Customization: Download MEL script for easy customization of the 3d models in Maya. Also see Demo movie and Usage Instructions sections. Requirements: Maya 5.0+ Note: Only ATOM, HETATM and CONECT records of PDB files are used to create the Maya 3d models. |
