The atom and bond geometry is based on Nurbs. Users can switch between software and hardware(no bonds) rendering modes easily by our customization MEL script. We recommend these 3d models for best interactive performanceStandard Models (Nurbs): These models are created using Nurbs geometry instancing they are similar to Basic 3d models and work well only when the total number of atoms is small. Basic Models (Polygon): Same as Standard Models, except they use Polygon geometry as base instead of Nurbs. Customization: Download MEL script for easy customization of the 3d models in Maya.
